A little rabbit smells the sweet-scented roses, selecting the best one for lunch. What a great idea from the organisers to include a prompt with animals. For me, animals seem a tricky topic in terms of illustration. I'm on my way to learning more about them by creating pencil sketches. But I never really painted one. This incredible photo by Julian Rad seemed an excellent choice for the bring spring theme. I loved how the photographer played with the focus in the case of little flowers coming out from the grass. It was great to practice my wet-in-wet technique as well. (May 2023)
